Helen Phillips

Helen qualified as a solicitor in 1983 after studying law at Southampton University. She specialised in family law and wills in the early part of her career but over the last twenty years has developed her areas of expertise to include probate and powers of attorney also. 

She set up Phillips Green, as it was know then, with Mike Green in September 2003. Helen and Mike had worked together in another local firm prior to this. They were joined in early 2004 by Paula Murphy, who had also worked with Helen previously.

Helen has a friendly and sympathetic approach to clients which, combined with her wealth of experience, allows her to guide and support clients through what is often a difficult and traumatic time in their lives.

Helen is a keen runner and is a member of the Amman Valley Harriers. She also enjoys reading and cooking and is a member of Swansea Tangent Club.

Michael Green

Mike has been a solicitor since 1995 and has a wealth of experience in litigation and employment law. 

His main area of practice is civil litigation, particularly contract disputes, employment and professional negligence, including medical cases.

Paula Murphy

Areas of Law: Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, Family, Conveyancing

Paula was admitted as a solicitor in 1993 and has experience in a wide variety of legal matters such as divorce, relationship breakdowns, disputes over children, property and financial claims. She also deals with Wills and Probate and has been involved in a number of High Court cases involving contested wills and intestacy claims. 

Paula runs a weekly drop-in clinic in Killay, offering clients a free 30 minute meeting on legal matters.

Paula enjoys a wide variety of activities in her spare time, including driving her vintage Morris 1000, paddle boarding, cycling, running and partying!

Lisa Peters

Conveyancing Paralegal

Lisa joined the firm in 2012 as a conveyancing and family secretary.  She later undertook training to qualify as a Conveyancing Paralegal and has been working exclusively in the conveyancing department since 2018.

Lisa likes reading crime fiction, watching comedy but mainly listening to music; walks along our lovely coast with her husband Paul and son Alfie.  They have two rescue dogs from Romania, both nuts!  Lisa keeps fit with Pilates and rebounding and enjoying the pub somewhere in between!

Tom Blake

Trainee Solicitor

Tom has a degree in Law from Swansea University and has completed the Legal Practice Course at the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law at Swansea University.   Tom began his training contract with us in September 2020 and will work in our litigation team.

Tom spends a lot of his spare time playing sport (football and cricket). Playing cricket for Ynystawe in the South Wales Premier Cricket League 2 and Captain from 2018-2021.

From a non-sport point of view, Tom worked at a multi-national cybersecurity training company while in University and completed the GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) certification in 2018.

Caryl Thomas

Trainee Solicitor
Caryl completed her undergraduate degree in International Business Management in 2014 and following this, has developed a commercial background in business.

 In 2018, she returned to university to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law followed by a Masters in Advanced Legal Drafting combined with the Legal Practitioners Course. Both postgraduate studies were completed at the Hilary Rodham Clinton School of Law at Swansea University, where in 2019 she was awarded Highly Commended student by the Law School for 2019.

 Caryl joined PGM in October 2021 and works in the litigation department.
